This fabric is a beautiful semi-sheer cotton lawn made in Japan for Kokka. A deep graphite gray, this fabric uses an ancient technique called "Enshuku," to create a 3" textured circles that are slightly crinkled and sheerer than the background.

A very lightweight ethereal fabric, its best for garments that can be gently layered, such as a diaphanous dress over a slip, a gossamer poets blouse over a cami, or an airy cover up over a bathing suit.

Enshuku is a fabric finishing technique, where fabric is immersed in a salt solution that causes exposed areas to shrink dramatically. Areas that have been protected by a substance that resists the salt solution remain their original size and density, resulting in cell-like patterns and indentations.
