This indigo-dyed cotton chambray comes to you raw, i.e., neither chemically nor mechanically softened at the mill. Off the bolt, it has a crisp hand and feels a bit stiff, but softens to a supple hand over several washes. The cool thing about softening it yourself at home is that, like raw denim, it will develop unique wear patterns specific to how your body moves in it, giving it loads of character. Raw chambray is a favorite for workwear button-down shirts.
